Smart Swim 2
For Smart Swim 2, fit is super important for not only a comfortable and leak-free swim, but also vital for ensuring great heart rate.
The below instructions, along with this video, will set you up for a successful first swim and beyond! Alternatively, you can follow this Interactive Fit Guide. Please know, however, that our team is always available for further troubleshooting and tips if needed.
On Dry Land
It’s important to first adjust the goggles as much as possible before you get in the water, so that you aren’t wasting precious swim time!
1. Eye Cups
Hold the goggles up to your face and press them over your eyes until you feel suction. At this stage, you can leave the straps dangling. Focus on finding where the goggles sit most comfortably around your eyes.
2. Nose Bridges
Your goggles come with the medium nose bridge installed but there are multiple sizes in the case for you to swap out. Now that you have the lens cups on your face, evaluate how the nose bridge feels:
- Do the inside edges of the lens cups feel too close to your nose? If so, switch out the installed medium for a larger size.
- Do the lens cups feel too far apart relative to your nose and eyes? If so, switch out the installed medium for a smaller size.
You can see how to switch the nose bridges here.
Note: if you switch the display orientation, you may also need to switch the nose bridge orientation.
3. Suction
Now that you should have found the right nose bridge, press the seals gently against your face (still without the straps around your head) and then let go. You should feel comfortable suction. If not, return to step 2 and adjust the nose bridges until you feel this.
4. Heart Rate Sensor & Straps
In order to get the best heart rate data, the sensor on the temple stem of the goggles must have direct contact with the skin and be snug against your head.
With the lens cups still on your eyes, pull the straps over your head and place them on the back of your head with one higher up than the other in order to provide stability (see image below). The strap should hold the goggles firmly enough in place so that they do not slip during turns, but not so tightly that they cause discomfort. If you need to loosen or tighten the straps, take the goggles off your head and use the buckle to do this. You can see the steps here.
Now, put on your swim cap if you usually wear one. We recommend wearing the goggles underneath the cap to avoid any obstruction between the sensor and your skin. Any hair in the way of the sensor should also be moved.
Your First Swim
Now that you have made the initial fitting, you can head to the pool or the water to try them out in a real swim situation. Don’t forget to take your goggles case and the nose bridge card with you so that you can make adjustments if needed.
1. Swim!
Do a few laps in the pool or swim for a few mins in the water. How do the goggles feel? If the goggles feel comfortable and you’re not experiencing any leaking, then congratulations: you've found great goggle fit and you’re ready to start swimming with FORM! 2. Adjust
If you experience any issues with heart rate data while swimming, check that the sensor is making direct contact with your skin, removing any obstructions, and ensure that the sensor is snug and not only loosely against your skin.
If you are experiencing leaking when swimming, try the following:
General leaking: Start by tightening the goggles’ strap. You may also need to check the eye seals: if they have come loose, if there is a gap between the lens and the seal, or if they are twisted - there will be a slow leak into the lens cup while you swim.
Leaking mostly/only on display lens: If tightening the strap doesn’t help, you can try flipping the display lens to the other eye. Note: if you’re using an arched nose bridge, you will need to flip the orientation of the nose bridge when you flip the display lens to the other eye.
Leaking mostly/only on the inside edges of the lenses (nearest the nose): This may indicate that the nose bridge needs to be swapped for a smaller or larger one. One that may feel the right size out of the water may not be the right one once you get in for a swim. If you swap to a different nose bridge size, you may need to revisit the dry land steps above to ensure a perfect fit.
Leaking when pushing off hard/diving into the pool: The goggles aren’t made for diving in off the blocks: they could become dislodged during the dive and the start of your swim may be recorded inaccurately. They work best when you push off from the wall. If you’re pushing off hard, make sure that you are streamlined and that your head position is good so as to minimize the drag on the goggles.

How To Adjust The Straps
The strap tension is adjustable with the buckle at the center of the strap. Adjust the strap one side at a time by releasing the end and pulling it through the buckle. Always fix the end of the strap back down to prevent slipping during use.
