Freestyle kick, also known as flutter kick, provides balance and can help you swim faster.
There are four main variations of kicking depending on your comfort level and access to equipment:
Kicking with kickboard only
Kicking with kickboard & fins
Kicking with fins only
Kicking without equipment
How to do the drill
Keep a steady kick just beneath the surface of the water. Initiate your kick from your hips, bend your knees slightly, and keep your ankles relaxed while kicking. When using a kickboard, hold the top with your hands and rest your arms on the board.
